Brain Tumor That Blinded This Teenager Will Take His Life Without A Surgery in 24 Hours

“Two days back, my son Vikas woke up in the morning and screamed ‘I cannot see anything! There is only darkness in front of me’. My wife and I were shocked as he had been fairly active before this. But now he is confined to the hospital bed. He keeps asking me, ‘Baba what will happen to me now, how will I go to college?'  Questions about the future are troubling him, but the truth is that his future itself is uncertain,”-Babulal, father.

15-year-old Vikas Kumar is suffering from a brain tumor that needs to be operated on within 24 hours, or it can kill him. The father and son are now in Delhi, a city that is completely alien to them. Babulal, already heartbroken that his poor son lost his vision, has only one prayer: that his son’s life be saved at any cost. He asks everybody in the hospital ward for help, begging with folded hands, but nothing has come so far.

Despite learning he had a tumor, this cheerful boy didn’t stop going to school

It all started when 5 months ago, Vikas started complaining of headaches and blurred vision. His father took him to the eye specialist many times, but they were not able to find out the root cause of these problems. As time passed, it started getting worse and his father took him to a hospital in the city, where he was diagnosed with brain tumor and prescribed medicines. Vikas knew about his condition from the beginning, but he didn’t let it affect his daily life.

“He had become weak, but that didn’t stop him from attending classes. He loves studying, so he never told us that he was having problems in seeing, fearing we would not let him go to school. He went out to play with his friends as usual, making sure that nobody suspected his illness. He kept smiling through his pain,”-Babulal

Without regular income, this farmer does not have the means to save his son

Babulal is a poor farmer who lives with his 5-member family, including his wife, Prabha, son Vikas and his two sisters in a small village in Madhya Pradesh. He is able to harvest crops only when there is rainfall – therefore he does not even have a regular, stable source of income. He has to borrow to feed his family sometimes. Last week, when Vikas’ condition worsened, he had to borrow a hefty sum to take him to Delhi from Madhya Pradesh. Now, he has exhausted all that money and is left with nothing to pay for his urgent surgery.

“My wife (who is back in the village with his 2 daughters) calls me every day and cries, asking how we will be able to save Vikas. She knows that I haven’t been able to arrange any money. Vikas is very critical and without this surgery, he will not survive. Please help me before it is too late,”-Babulal, father.

With your kind contribution, this poor father can save his son before the tumor turns deadly and kills him
