This Social Worker Has Changed Hundreds Of Lives, Now He Needs Your Help To Stay Alive

Souvik Saha (38) has worked tirelessly for years to uplift poor tribal children and help them receive education through a non-profit organization in the state of Jharkhand, India. He has helped many lives through his social service but now he is battling for his life and needs help. He has to undergo a liver transplant at the earliest to survive.

“I would like people to be aware of organ donation. In India, it is very difficult to find a donor as many people are sentimental about their bodies even after death. People must realize that they can save up to 6 other people by donating one’s body after death. My realization of this came only when I myself experienced the need.” – Souvik Saha

Souvik's body has been showing signs of illness when he was first diagnosed with severe jaundice few years ago.

He travels a lot due to the nature of his work. As a result he was not able to give much attention to his health. But about an year ago, when he had a health check up done at a hospital in Kolkata, he found out that his liver was completely damaged.

My brother is the kindest human being that I know. He lives to help others. Money had never been his focus. Look at the irony now, we are running from pillar to post to gather funds to save him,” – Rima Basak, sister.

A month ago, Souvik's condition worsened - his stomach started swelling up, he was in immense pain. Doctors told that any further delay to get him a liver transplant would cost him his life. The medical team is looking for a suitable donor. But the transplant would cost them about 25 lakhs.

“Souvik has always put others before him in his life. He has made friends in all walks of his life. Today, such a humble and kind human is battling for his life. The amount needed for his transplant is huge and the doctors have informed that the cost might further go up to 35 lakhs if there are any complications.” – Joyjit, brother-in-law .

He has dedicated his entire life for the betterment of others. He has so many plans to make this country a better place to live. But he needs an urgent transplant to live. He cannot afford so much money in such a short time. He requests people to come forward and help him in this crucial time. Your kind and timely contribution can save Souvik.
