Power cuts are no more a hindrance to their household work

Pratima a lady of 39 year age resides in a locality in Muniguda under district Rayagada, Odisha. She has six children. Her husband works as a manager at local petrol pump while makes leaf plates. Preparing leaf plats is the most common business activity in this area and the demand is also high. At present her monthly income is around Rs 6,000. Power cuts are frequent in the area which hampers the leaf plates making activity of Pratima and affects the education of her children. The eldest daughter of Pratima is studying in 12th standard. Pratima along with her group had taken solar energy loan almost two months back buy solar lanterns. She had a very good experience with Milaap and the field partner, Mahashakti Foundation and is quite happy with the loan. She also expressed her desire to get the education loan for her children of whom one has to join the college from next year onward.
