Today's image of the day shows a training program conducted by our field partner, Industree Crafts Foundation. This training program was known as Design and Skills Upgradation Training in Banana Fibre and Rope, in which many rural artisans were given training by ICF Trainers in box designing, loom products, etc using banana fibres. This photo shows the artisans interacting and sharing their knownledge of various crochet techniques in banana fibre with one another.
Foundations, and programs, such as these are important in developing market links between the artisan and the consumer. ICF also sells the products of these artisans to the consumers through their retail shop, Mother Earth.
This week, we shift the focus of Image of the Day towards market linkages, another key area in which Milaap is working to make a difference.
