These Triplets Fighting For Their Lives In The NICU Can Be Reunited With Their Mother With Your Help

When Sirisha found out she was going to have triplets, she knew it wasn’t going to be easy. She would have three bundles of joy, which meant thrice the amount of happiness, worry, care and sleepless nights. She asked her doctors a lot of questions, but Sirisha felt ready to be a mother. However, Sirisha’s reality is far from what she had imagined – her triplets are in the NICU on ventilator support, all fighting for their lives. Sirisha spends her day going from one incubator to another. She could lose all 3 of her babies if they don’t get treatment.

They are separated from each other and from me

Sirisha's preemie triplets did not have any complications for the first 2 days except that they were severely underweight. But the nightmares began soon. The first baby got lung infections and was placed on high ventilation support. The next day, their second baby got blood infections and then their third baby got severe digestion problem. It has been 10 days since they were born and Sirisha refuses to move away from them even for a minute. She spends sleepless nights. Her routine is to check the babies every 10 minutes, pump milk, feed each of them a few drops through tubes and ask the doctors if there are any small milestones they have achieved.

"The first time I was wheeled into NICU, I saw tiny babies in all the incubators. It was terrifying. I thought my babies would be together but they weren't. They are all separated from each other, fighting their own battles. I want to hold them, I just want to take them home," - Sirisha

They fear that their family will fall apart forever

It was the beginning of the 7th month of pregnancy, Sirisha and Santosh went for a regular checkup and unexpectedly her water broke. Sirisha had to undergo a c -section immediately. Since then it has been a roller coaster ride for them. The NICU charges per day cost 1 lakh and he has spent 8 lakhs so far by borrowing from his relatives and friends. While Sirisha can't think of anything beyond her triplets, Santosh who knows that the expense is beyond his means, suffers in silence and fears that his family will fall apart forever.

"Every day at 10'o clock, the doctor call us for counselling. They tell us about the condition of our babies. We fear every moment that we might get bad news. She cries and begs the doctors to save our babies at any cost. How will I tell her that I cannot afford the treatment anymore?" - Santosh

Santosh works in a private company, he has exhausted all that he had. He is desperately waiting for your help. His wife Sirisha is waiting to take her triplets home and without help, her dreams of motherhood will never come true.
