Safa was recovering from jaundice - she had it a month ago. The medicines were working and she was slowly getting back her appetite. Samshudin and Thaslin were happy - but their happiness was short-lived.“It happened last week. She suddenly started crying out in pain, holding her stomach. She was vomiting continuously. Her entire body had turned yellow. I thought she won’t live,” - Thaslin, mother.

Little Safa has Wilson’s Disease - a condition in which the copper in the body doesn't get eliminated properly. Instead, it accumulates, damaging the liver. She hasn’t been able to eat or drink anything for the last few days. In fact, she has almost stopped talking. “I keep sitting beside her, calling out her name but she doesn’t respond. Tears roll down her eyes constantly, she must be in so much pain! The doctors said that I can donate my liver to save her but the money…?” - says a worried Thaslin.

Samshudin works in a courier office, makes about Rs 10,000 in a month. He has been doing everything in his power to save Safa.
