Father Begs Door To Door For Help To Save His Baby From Heart Failure, But It's Not Enough

One month ago when Sapna and Sagar got to know that their baby boy, Shivam won’t survive without a surgery, they couldn’t believe their ears. ‘It’s not possible,’ Sagar said, ‘He had pneumonia, he doesn’t need a heart surgery.’ It took him several days come to terms with the fact that his son is born with a heart defect. Now he is running from door to door, begging them to help him save his son.

Breathing trouble, frequent fevers - the symptoms were there but no one noticed

Sagar is a daily wager in a small village near Ludhiana. For Sapna and Sagar every day was a struggle. Sometimes, they didn’t have food to eat but when they knew that Sapna was pregnant with a child - they started saving up.

“We have seen hardships our entire life - we didn’t want our son to go through the same. But now we are told that without surgery, he will not make it to his next birthday. I wish we knew before that the frequent fevers and the cold were signs of something so dangerous,” - Sapna, mother.

My daily wages aren’t enough for our everyday meals, how can I afford the surgery?

Shivam’s fever doesn’t seem to go for the last one month. He has a severe cough and cold - often he chokes while he is coughing. He is too weak to even feed. A hole in the upper chambers of his heart doesn’t allow him to breathe properly. Now he needs surgery - that is his only hope.

“I earn Rs 200 a day, often I can’t even feed my own family. How will arrange for 2.5 lakhs for my son?”

With your help, Sagar and Sapna can bring back their baby boy home.
