Father Will Be Forced To Sell His House And Live On Streets If He Gets No Help To Save His Son

For the last one month 1-year-old Faizal has been through a world of pain. Fever, breathing trouble, severe diarrhea - this child has gone through it all. He also had violent seizures and had been admitted in the hospital for several days intermittently.

“Last time we took him to the hospital with a very high fever and breathing troubles. He was admitted there for 6 days but when his condition didn’t get better, we were told to take him to Kolkata. He has been in the ICU for the past 15 days and I have paid only 2 lakhs. He needs to stay longer but I have nowhere to get the money from. The only path left for me is to sell my house. But that’s all I have,” - Majid (father).

The parents were shocked to find out that Faizal’s cold was not from a mere change in weather

“The weather was cold last month and when Faizal had a fever we thought it was because of that. We didn’t know that it would lead to a series of painful incidents for my baby. The seizures were the worst - he started shaking violently. I have never been more scared in my life. Even now, he is not fully cured. I am waiting to see him smile and call out to me but it feels like I have been waiting forever,” - Monti (mother).

Majid and Monti’s 1-year-old has been diagnosed with pneumonia. He also has a severe infection in his blood. He needs to stay in the ICU more at least 15 more days.

‘I can’t bear to stand in the ICU for more than a few minutes’

Majid, Monti and their 7-year-old daughter adored baby Faizal. He had just started eating by his own hands and used to make a huge mess out of it. But Monti never lost patience. She sat with him telling him about every food he was eating and how it would benefit his body.

Now my little baby is only being fed by tubes. He is in so much pain that he can hardly keep his eyes open. Tears well up in my eyes when I see him like this - I can’t bear to stand in the ICU for more than few minutes.”

How you can help

Majid works as a driver in Agartala, Tripura and makes about Rs 8000. He hardly has any savings and sometimes he needs to borrow from his relatives even to run his family of 4. But since the last month, he has absolutely no count of how much he has spent.

“My brother-in-law has been a big support and has helped me pay a large part of the bills. But there is only so much he can do. I need 9 lakhs more and my last resort would be to sell our house. But then we would have nowhere to stay. Please help me.”

This helpless father has no one to turn to but crowdfunding. A generous contribution from your side will save 1-year-old Faizal's life.
