These Parents Are Desperate To Save Their Dying 3-Month-Old Baby Girl

“When the doctors asked us for her name to fill in the form, she was suffering from seizures and at that moment I said 'Bhargavi', name of our family Goddess. Our baby is just 3-months-old, but she’s suffering so much. Her liver is failing, the bones in her legs and arms are bent, her blood count is dangerously low and now the disease has affected her eyesight.”- Bhuvaneshwari, mother of 3-month-old baby Bhargavi

Bhuvaneshwari and Siva Kumar are desperate to save their baby girl whose life now solely depends on an urgent bone marrow transplant.

The newborn has seizures every few minutes

Bhuvaneshwari and Siva Kumar decided to continue with the pregnancy only after the double marker test that checks for abnormality in genes was negative. However, just 15 days after her birth, baby Bhargavi started getting seizures. They went to a local hospital and were told that it may be due to the cold weather but in a few days, she began to get mild seizures every 30 minutes. Her eyes became reddish and she was losing weight drastically. Baby Bhargavi is only 2 kgs now.

"She was admitted for a month in a local hospital. They took many tests and each time the scan reports revealed different things - her liver and spleen are enlarged. They were not able to tell us why this was happening to our baby." - Bhuvaneshwari

There is hope for the little one - she can be saved with an urgent transplant

After taking her to several hospitals, they came to the hospital in Madurai where baby Bhargavi was finally diagnosed with Malignant infantile osteopetrosis which increases bone density throughout the body resulting in abnormal shape and size of the skeleton and disproportion of the long bones, spine, and head. It also causes bone marrow failure. She has been undergoing regular blood transfusions, but the disease will turn fatal without a bone marrow transplant.

"I have not fed her because of her lactose intolerance, when she cries in hunger or pain, I just watch her helplessly. I haven't even held her enough, I'm waiting to take her back home. Our relatives ask us to give up, they think she won't make it. But we are determined to save our little one," - Bhuvaneshwari.

He was forced to quit his job to take care of his sick baby

Siva Kumar was working as a technician in a private company in Kerala. He decided to quit his job to stay next to his baby and he is looking for a job in Madurai because the baby needs check-ups in the hospital after the transplant. He has spent around 5 lakh by borrowing from his relatives and friends. He needs 20 lakh for the transplant and without your help, there is no way that he can arrange such a huge amount of money.

Together, we can help 3-month-old baby Bhargavi live a normal life
