Help Save 4-Year-Old Rida Who Is In Extreme Pain Because She Has Blood Cancer

Two months ago, Baby Rida’s life changed. She was diagnosed with blood cancer and was immediately asked to start treatment. Once a playful child, this 4-year-old now spends her days in the hospital ward without her sisters. Rida needs to undergo a Bone Marrow Transplant at the earliest to beat her cancer.

Her Sisters Are Waiting To Play With Her Again

Since Rida is highly susceptible to infections, and even her sisters and parents can’t be around her for too long. Her father, Inayathulla is devastated to see his daughter in this condition. Rida used to spend most of her time playing with her 2 sisters. Now, she spends her days in the hospital, and when she is at home, she plays alone. The cancer has not only weakened her, but also taken away her sisters from her.

“She misses her sisters so much, and they miss her too. But they can’t be with her for too long. Even a small infection can kill her. If only her sisters could be with her, it might help distract her from all her pain, even for a little while. We are all waiting for the day our baby gets better and we can put this behind us,”

Rida gets no respite from her pain

Rida has severe joint pain and swelling in her stomach. She is also highly susceptible to infections, and is constantly falling ill. She needs to undergo chemotherapy every week and go to the hospital for blood tests every alternate day. This has made her extremely weak. Rida doesn’t eat or sleep well anymore.  Rida’s father and mother stay up with her all night trying to comfort her from a distance.

“Rida’s cries resonate in my mind throughout the day. She cries all night, every day. I feel so helpless as a parent, but at least I can express myself. My baby can’t even do that because she doesn’t understand what’s happening to her."

Rida needs a bone marrow transplant to beat cancer

Rida has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, cancer of the blood and bone marrow. She has already started with the chemotherapy. However, the doctors say that a bone marrow transplant is her best chance for survival. Rida needs to undergo the transplant at the earliest.

Inayathulla’s salary as a lab technician doesn’t cover the insurmountable amount required for the transplant. He has already spent 7 Lakhs for Rida’s treatment for one month. The transplant is estimated to be 20 Lakhs.

Inayathulla can’t wait to see his child free from the suffering. He hopes that once they can pay for her bone marrow transplant, Rida will again be her playful self and the life of the family.
