While Mother Recovers From Surgery, Father Struggles All Alone To Save His Newborn Baby

“My wife saw him only for a few seconds before he was taken away to another hospital. It’s been a week and she still hasn’t recovered form the c-section, still hasn’t seen our baby. She calls me every few hours, asking if the doctor had said anything. I don’t have the strength to tell her the truth – that our baby is fighting for his life in the NICU.” – Shivalingam, father

I fight back my tears and tell my wife that our baby is fine

Shivalingam and Swathi were elated when they found that she is pregnant. Her scan reports were normal and she had a smooth pregnancy. They were least prepared for any misfortunes but their baby was born with severe breathing troubles and he was taken to another hospital for the treatment. The baby boy was found to have heart disease because of which there is not enough blood circulation in his body. His condition became worse in 2 days and he had urgent heart surgery.

"My wife is unaware of all this, how can I tell her that our baby has a heart disease? I still can't come to terms with it. I can't even go back to the hospital where she is admitted, I'm afraid to move from my baby even for a minute. I talk to her over phone, I fight back my tears and tell her that baby is fine now," - Shivalingam

Their baby's battle for life is not over yet but they have already exhausted everything they had

Swathi and Shivalingam's baby is still on ventilator support. He is highly prone to infections. He needs to be in NICU for at least the next 15 days to recover completely. In just a week's time, Shivalingam has spent 3.5 lakhs and he needs 6 lakhs more to continue with the treatment. He feels completely helpless and lives in fear of losing his baby.

"My friends and relatives helped me with whatever they could, I cannot ask them anymore. If something bad happens I cannot forgive myself. I don't have the strength to face my wife. I don't know what I can do, please help me save my baby," - Shivalingam

Shivalingam works for a private company and earns Rs 12,000 per month. He did everything possible to save his baby and now without your help, he'll lose him. His wife Swathi, unaware of the baby's condition is waiting to hold him in her arms. Only your contribution can save this baby's life.
