Unite for Setting up Animal Welfare Hospital

24 year-old Edmond Fernandes is a doctor, and plans to open Mangalore city's first specialised full-fledged hospital for animals.

Centre for Health and Development(CHD) Group was founded in the year 2014 by this doctor who was back then a house surgeon. Today it has grown into an institution which has branched out into public health risk reduction activities in different regions.

Edmond now plans to start a Regional Animal Care Hospital, which would be a division of CHD Group and needs your support to build it.

He decided to put the idea to action on hearing several requests from people in the region to have a dedicated 24/7 animal hospital as there is no such hospital in the entire coastal district of Dakshina Kannada.

The doctor, who is a general physician, and not a veterinarian, hopes to help the animals of Mangalore. The intended hospital will come up at Bajal, Padil in Mangalore City limits.

This facility would be the first of its kind in the region and would have patient beds for animals, a feature not all clinics and hospitals have for stray, destitute and injured animals.

The hospital would be run by a dedicated team of socially responsible veterinarians and quality animal care would be delivered. Stray animals would be treated free of cost and pets with owners would be charged at a subsidized rate. - Dr. Edmond Fernandes

Dr. Edmond Fernandes has been pioneering the organisational efforts and connecting with grass-root communities and also with people at top tables of governments, besides engaging deeply with the powerful Indian middle class, whom he believes, has been responsible to push his journey forward.

The land has already been identified, and the amount necessary is to only build the hospital which can them help render quality animal care for the voiceless creatures of God.
