Dear Friends,
With deep sorrow, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved friend, Srinivasan Munusamy, who passed away on March 5, 2025, at the age of 43 due to cardiac arrest. He was from 2002 batch, ECE department of Guindy Engineering College.
Srini grew up in a rural area near Sholingur and was a high school district topper. During college days, he was very friendly, ever-smiling face, and had many friends. Srini was passionate about software and chose to establish a small software consulting firm on his own.
Srini was diagnosed with Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) - an abnormal heart rhythm, in 2007, after a road accident. However, he remained optimistic as it did not affect his daily life. In recent years, VT worsened, reducing heart’s ejection fraction to 15%, which in turn affected his lung, liver and kidney functions, severely impacting his quality of daily life. Srini had frequent hospital visits, stays and procedures done, with expenses accumulating up. He had pledged all his jewels, land and home. Interest on loans started to build up causing a huge financial burden of around 80 lakhs.Despite these hardships, Srini had a positive outlook towards his future.
Due to deteriorating condition of his heart, as per doctors direction, he registered for a heart transplant and pulmonary artery catheterization that would cost 35 lakhs. He was waiting for the transplant to be done in another few months.
On Mar 5, Srini experienced breathing difficulties, high BP and pulse. Doctors gave electric shocks to stabilize his heart. Later, the cardiologist performed CPR for more than half-an-hour. Though he had been resuscitated earlier, tragedy struck unexpectedly - cardiac arrest took his life away.
Srini leaves behind his wife, Sridevi and their two young children - Hari (11) and Dhanya (8). Sridevi is currently searching for a full-time job in the insurance industry, His sudden demise has come as a shock to his family, and his wife is left with the difficult task of raising two young children single handedly.
Though we can’t fill the void left by Srini as a loving father and husband, we are aiming to raise funds to help reduce the financial burden, cover the education expenses for both his children up to college studies.
Request those good hearts out there, to generously donate to help our CEGian family to recover well and help secure his kids education and their future. Every donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference.
