Severe Brain Infection Will Kill This 1-month-old Baby Girl
"I waited for a week to see my newborn and every minute felt like an hour. She was in the NICU fighting for her life. Instead of admiring how beautiful her tiny features were, the mother in me was in agonizing pain to see my little daugther covered with tubes. She was struggling to breathe from the moment she was born. I 'm scared that the infection in her brain and intestine would soon take her away from me." - Swapna, mother of the baby.

This premature born is struggling every second for life
Srinivas and Swapna rejoiced to be parents after 9-long-years of their marriage, but the happiness did not last long as their baby was born in the 7th month of pregnancy. She was not only struggling to breathe but also had infections in the brain and her intestine."We always dreamt of having children in our house, but the happiness did not last long as the twisted faith had other plans for our newborn. When they told us that our baby is suffering from infections, we did not know what to do. But all that we understood was she had to undergo the treatment immediately to survive." - Swapna.

Only a surgery can help this baby from brain damage which can eventually kill her
This 25-days-old baby had undergone an intestine surgery within 10 days of its birth to remove the blockage in her intestine. But the struggle for this newborn is not over yet. The fluid build-up in her brain causes swelling. The baby needs shunt surgery immediately, the delay will only increase water that puts pressure on her brain and causes brain damage. After the surgery, she has to be in the NICU for 4 weeks."I flinch everytime to the sight of the tubes that are connected to my little child's brain to remove the water temporarily. At times, she cries out loud in pain and suddenly scuffles to breathe, all that I can do is to stand helplessly watch her whimper through the ventilators. As a mother, it hurts deeply to see how much this tiny body can go through. - Swapna.

This family is neck deep in debt and are unable to afford a life-saving surgery
Srinivas and Swapna are daily wage laborers who work in the fields every day till nightfall only to make Rs 200 a day each. They have already spent 7 lakhs for the intestine surgery and treatment in NICU. Now they have exhausted all their savings and are dependent only on crowdfunding for their daughter to survive."After mortgaging the only house we had, we borrowed a huge sum of amount from our relatives and friends for my baby's first surgery. We somehow managed to keep her alive till now but we are lost in every way and are left penniless now. All we can do is only pray for a sign of help, please help our newborn survive. " - Swapna.
