Dhanusha was diagnosed with blood cancer at the age of 2 when she had a fever, which refused to go down. Sunkanna sold his house and with that money he managed to treat Dhanusha. But this was just the beginning of their hardships.
Soon their elder daughter was diagnosed with cancer tooWhen the parents came back after finishing a year long treatment for Dhanusha, Geeta (their elder daughter) was diagnosed of a similar kind of blood cancer and it was fatal. This time, Sunkanna sold all the land he owned and started working as a daily wage labourer to run the house.
“They are so young to bear all of this. It’s like a cycle, one daughter gets better and the other gets sick. We were so happy when we came back home with Dhanusha but soon we noticed that there was a lump in Geeta’s neck. I was so scared that it would be cancer and my worst fears came true.”- Sunkanna
One would think that life couldn't be more unfair. But it was to this poor father. Dhanusha's cancer relapsed and now without a bone marrow transplant she will not be able to make it. The cost of the treatment will be 25 lakhs, which this farmer family cannot afford.
