My husband has been refusing to eat anything since the day he has heard that our baby won’t survive without a liver transplant. Whatever I say, he is not ready to listen, it is as if he is in a trance. He keeps telling me that he will lose his son. He sits in front of the puja ghar and constantly keeps praying for our son. I am all alone, I don’t know how I will save him. People tell me to give up, but I just can't.” - Lalita, mother

Lalita and Mritunjoy’s 2-month-old baby has a severe liver disease - the only hope for this baby boy is a transplant.

We always loved children, we were overjoyed to have a baby of our own

The perfect couple in a small neighbourhood of Kamrup, Assam, everyone loved Mritunjoy and Lalita. They were great hosts, especially when little children came to their house. The couple had always longed for a baby and 2 months ago, their wish was granted when Bhaibhav was born to them.

“But hardly a month had passed when we noticed that he is turning yellow - his eyes, his body. He couldn’t even digest the milk I fed him. He was always crying, hardly sleeping at night,” - Lalita.

They took Bhaibhav to Guwahati, hoping that doctors there can cure their baby. But they said he was very serious, he had only a few days to live. The desperate parents immediately took him to Gurgaon.

My husband has lost all hope but I haven’t - I will do anything to save my son

Mritunjoy works as a clerk in a government school, while Lalita is a homemaker. The couple never complained about money because they had love aplenty. But when Bhaibhav’s illness was diagnosed, the parents didn’t know what to do.

“I have never seen my husband like this, he is heartbroken. But I can’t leave my son like this. I have been begging my family members even my husband’s employers. I have been doing the running around, I let him be with Bhaibhav. We have somehow managed to get a little over 1 lakh but the transplant will cost us 18 lakhs. How will I ever arrange for so much?

While Mritunjoy doesn’t leave his baby’s side for a single minute, Lalita has been trying her level best. Both of them are ready to be the donor but they can’t even afford the tests. They need the money at the earliest - you can help them.

Little Bhaibhav doesn't have much time. The clock is ticking and his parents are frantically trying to get any help they can. Your contribution can save his life
