Background

In May 2018 we ran a campaign to support the Adarsh Nagar Migrants colony. The colony, which was already beset by a myriad of problems, suffered a big blow when the authorities disconnected their power connection in June 2018. We supported the colony by running a diesel generator for most of the year 2018 while reaching out to the authorities for restoration of electric connection. However, we are sad to report that despite best of our efforts, the colony is still without power for a year now. The struggle of the residents was also covered in various leading newspapers but to no avail.

Solar Power Solution

With the scorching summer heat of Delhi beating down on the residents, we used the remaining money in the campaign to purchase Solar Panels with inverter, battery, fan, lights and a power point for 40 families.
However, we still need to provide the remaining 50 households with solar power. The price for each of the solar powered set up is INR 12,075 excluding freight and installation. We are aiming to raise INR 6,60,000 to cover for the purchase, freight and installation with this campaign. Please contribute so that the residents of Adarsh Nagar can get electricity and light and have some respite from the summer heat.

My name is Ashutosh Joshi and I am based in Delhi-NCR working as Manager Finance for a large MNC. Inspired by the dynamic leadership of our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, my fellow brothers and sisters at @HiPAC1 have decided to do our bit by helping our Nation’s grass root heroes. We have raised upwards of INR 90 lakh for our grass root heroes in our campaigns. I am the moderator of this campaign.
