When Love Blurred Reality
When Sheela fell in love with her neighbour, little had she imagined that life would take a nasty turn. Her marriage was in rough waters but she didn't give up. Her dreams of the future kept her going and Sheela started working hard to make things better and she did, till tragedy struck her.
She earned a job which changed her husband's mind and he began to look up to her. Everything went well until Sheela started receiving inappropriate advances from her boss. She hid her complaints in the fear that she would lose her job. But soon it became unbearable and sheela had to resign her job. But her former boss was not ready to leave her alone.
The Wretched Day
When Sheela was at her new job, her former boss and his men forced Sheela to re-join her previous job. Sheela feared an impending danger but in fear she gave in to their demands. On the day of the attack, sheela was made to wait in the pretext of some pending work but to sheela's relief, the boss let her go. Sheela was relieved but she didn't foresee the danger lurking outside. Sheela was attacked in the bus stand by a man who mercilessly threw acid on her.
“I never knew I could scream like that. I neverknew that the shrieks that were coming out of my mouth could come out of another human being”.
Life after the attack
Abandonment added to her agony. Sheela’s husband left her but the reception from her parents gave her some solace. Life failed to be the same for Sheela.She faced rejection from all sides due to her facial disfigurement.What is more unfortunate than her plight is the fact that the perpetrators are still on the loose. It's been more than 5 years and Sheela's case is still on trial.
