This 5-Year-Old Is Dying Of Liver Disease, And His Father Does Not Want To Save Him

5-year-old Misbha is an active little boy when his pain is not overpowering him. He has a crippling fear of injections when anybody approaches and talks to him. His pain is evident on his face when he tries to move around or lie down. He has been diagnosed with Chronic Liver Disease. He needs an urgent liver transplant to survive, but his father has abandoned him in this time of need.

Family issues have forced Misbha’s mother to take up his responsibility

In an unfortunate turn of events, Misbha’s father has refused to contribute even a single penny towards his treatment and has removed himself from the situation. His mother, Zakiya Begum, is a housewife. Owing to her son’s illness Zakiya not in a position to take up a job to support the treatment.

"My husband does not want to be stressed, so he told me not to bring Misbha anywhere near him. I live with my parents. My father is paralyzed and bedridden. Even in this condition, he has been a pillar of support. I was not able to depend on my husband for anything."

A history of tragedy in the family

Zakiya Begum has already lost her 8-year-old daughter to Metabolic Liver Disease. It has been 5 years since the tragic incident and Zakiya is still recovering from the loss. Had she received treatment at the right time, she would have been alive.  When Misbha was diagnosed with the same condition, Zakiya was shattered. She is determined to do everything she can to save him.

"We cannot find a donor. I am not a match. So we have to look for a cadaver donor. It feels like the world is against us. If I cannot find a donor or arrange funds in time, I will lose my son."

Let’s help Misbha live a long and healthy life

Zakiya has already lived through the grief of losing one child. She felt helpless then, she is feeling helpless now. Misbha is in pain. He is unable to move and cries when the doctors move him for tests or treatment. Their strength is in their faith, faith that Allah can help them arrange Rs. 20 lakhs for the liver transplant, and a donor before time runs out.

Let’s join hands and make Misbah’s surgery and treatment, a reality. Donate below to make a difference in the life of a mother and her child.
