The Next 2 Hours Can Be Rubin's Last If He Doesn't Get An Urgent Transplant

Rabindra is frantically running around in an unknown city trying to arrange for a sum of money he has never seen in his own life. He needs 20 lakhs to save his son’s life but he doesn’t know how. Rubin, his 15-year-old son needs an urgent bone marrow transplant. That’s the only way he can live. But with only two hours left on the clock, there is a huge question mark as to if he can save Rubin’s life.

Rubin’s life is hanging by a thin thread

4 years ago, Rubin started having allergies all of a sudden. There were no other suspicious signs. His parents, Rabindra and Sharmila, thought it was skin disease. Much to their horror, test results showed something else - their son had cancer.

“Noone ever thinks of it and of course, we were shocked. But we had to be strong, at least for Rubin. I somehow arranged for the money we needed and Rubin underwent treatment. We were so happy to see him walk out of the cancer ward, all hale and hearty,” - Sharmila, mother.

But 6 months ago, his cancer relapsed. The pain, fever, allergies - everything came back. Rubin’s life started revolving around hospitals and chemo again. This time, the doctors said that only a bone marrow transplant can save him.

Rubin's cancer is a ticking time bomb

Rubin is fighting deadly blood cancer for the second time now but there is hope for him. His younger brother is a matched donor. But the clock is ticking - he has only 2 hours. They need the money urgently. The disease is taking a toll on him - he has become very weak, hardly able to sit up. ‘Will he make it?’ - this is the question that Sharmila and Rabindra are asking themselves now.

“Since we got to know about his relapse we have been trying to arrange money for his transplant. But it’s not easy. I have paid around 6 lakhs till now but there is still so much more to pay! I can’t express my helplessness in words.”
