He is suffering from multiple life-threatening complications10-year-old Pavan suffers from severe Pneumonia with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, which makes it difficult for him to breathe. He also suffers from Empyema, a condition in which pus gathers in the area between the lungs and the inner surface of the chest wall, and from liver abscess, a mass filled with pus inside the liver.
All these conditions, together, have left Pavan hanging on to his life by a thread. He has undergone two surgeries to survive so far, and needs continuous medical treatment for the next few weeks.
I am failing to protect him as a father
“Everything changed in a matter of a few days. Our happy and healthy child is now hardly able to keep his eyes open, let alone move or play like he used to. The tube in his throat and all the machines attached to him barely let him move and talk. He communicates through gestures for water and tears fall down his cheeks whenever he sees us. The sight of him suffering is just unbearable and I am failing to continue his treatment too. I am failing to protect him as his father.” - Raju, father
The constant pus accumulated is removed through the tubes attached to his body and a tracheostomy was done to aid with his breathing problem. Now he needs to be under medical supervision to recover completely. However, his parents are unable to afford the cure, any further.
Only you can help them save PavanRaju is a daily wage labourer and Rajita is a homemaker, who often works as a daily wager too when it gets difficult to manage the household expenses. Their income is just enough to get them by. But with their only child sick, and both of them attending to him at the hospital, there is no one to back them up financially.
“We begged and borrowed to be able to treat our child so far but all of my resources are exhausted now and I don’t know what else to do. I just want to take my child home in a completely healthy condition. I want him to go back to normal, play and be mischievous, like he used to. I don’t want to lose him, he is all we have.” - Raju
