4-Year-Old Is Always In Pain Because Of Her Severely Deformed Spine, She Needs Surgery

“My daughter is now 4 and she is beginning to understand that she is not alright, she is not like the other children she sees around... running on the road, going to school. She is so conscious of her bent back that she gets scared when other people are around. She asks why her body looks different and why she cannot walk and play like the other kids.” – Narayana, Father

Keerthana is different. That's because she was born with Kyphoscoliosis, a condition where there is an abnormal curve in the spine. This can affect the lungs, nerves and heart, causing severe back pain, disfigurement and breathing trouble. Luckily for Keerthana, she can be saved from this pain with surgery.

She can't even stand without help, will this be the only life she knows?

“My husband and I are very fond of children. We were so thrilled when we were expecting our baby. When Keerthana was born, we were told that she has spine deformity. We were shattered. Now, when I look at my daughter, I’m extremely worried. She is suffering in pain every moment. I feel helpless. She can't even stand without help. Will this be the only life she knows? ” – Nagma, Mother

She has never been to school

Keerthana loves to sing. She has a beautiful voice. Keerthana wants to do so many things, but she has never been to school. Her parents say that she is very weak and cannot even walk on her own. Due to her spine condition, she is often in pain. She cannot sit or stand in one position for long.

Narayana works in a small hotel and earns around Rs. 4,000 per month. He doesn’t have any other financial support. Keerthana needs to undergo a spinal correction surgery that would cost about them 4 lakhs.

A normal, pain-free life is all we want for her

“I want my daughter to be normal and lead a healthy life. She is feeling very rejected and inferior. This can affect her entire life. The doctors say that with surgery she can be alright, but I am unable to afford such a huge amount. Please help me.” – Narayana, Father

Narayana needs your support to afford his daughter's surgery that will help her. It's the only way she can have a normal childhood.
