She Has Already Lost Her Husband, She Might Lose Her Son Too

She Lost Her Husband And Had To Raise Her Children Alone

For the past ten years, she has carried the weight of the world on her shoulders. After losing her husband to illness, life took a turn for the worse. Her in-laws, once a source of support, cut off all ties, leaving her alone to raise her children without a job or any clear options in sight. She stepped up, taking on small cooking jobs near her home to make ends meet. But despite her relentless efforts, the situation for her family only worsened.

"My husband was a great father," she recalls with tears in her eyes. "Every weekend, he would spend time with us, making sure we all felt loved and cared for. But after he passed, everything changed. I felt like the ground had been pulled out from under me. Suddenly, I was all alone, trying to figure out how to keep going without him."

The Oldest Son Left School At 15 To Start Working

As the years passed, her own health began to deteriorate. Already battling diabetes and high blood pressure, her condition worsened under the physical and emotional strain. She could no longer work as much as she once did. Sensing her struggle, her eldest son made a heartbreaking decision—he left school at the age of 15 to support his family. Barely more than a child himself, he took on the responsibility of earning for the household, determined to ease his mother's burden.

But fate was not done testing this family.

His Minor Fall In The Playground Escalated To A Bone Cancer

In January, her younger son suffered a fall while playing. At the time, it seemed like just another childhood scrape, something easily forgotten. But by March, his legs began to ache intensely. Concerned, they rushed him to the hospital, where, after numerous tests, he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma—a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer that often starts in the long bones of the body, such as those in the legs or arms.

The Side Effects Of Chemotherapy Were Severe

The news shattered them. Soon after, chemotherapy began. The treatment was brutal, both physically and financially. The side effects hit hard—he could barely keep any food down, vomiting constantly after each session. His diet was reduced to liquids, and the joy of being a carefree child seemed a distant memory.

He Couldn’t Even Walk Without Support

"I enjoyed going to school, studying, and playing with my friends," the young boy said softly. "But ever since my diagnosis, everything has stopped. I haven’t been to school in three months. The doctors have prohibited me from doing anything. I can’t walk properly or even go to the bathroom without help. I just want things to go back to how they were."

The Expenses Exceeded Their Very Small Income

The doctors estimated that his continued treatment would cost 25 lakhs, a sum far beyond their reach. The mother’s medical expenses, the costs of running the household, and now the youngest son's treatment—all of it fell on the shoulders of her eldest son, who is barely twenty now.

All Their Dreams Seem Too Far Now

The burden is crushing. Her husband had always dreamt of seeing his children become engineers, and after his death, her eldest son wanted to fulfill that dream. But now, instead of pursuing his studies, he spends his days working to keep the family afloat. The youngest, too, holds on to that dream, even as his frail body battles cancer.

She has worked tirelessly, trying to raise her children alone, to fulfill her husband’s dream of giving them a better future. Now, she feels helpless, unable to do anything more as her son’s life hangs in the balance.
