The Next 24 Hours Is All This Newborn Has To Get Surgery And Survive A Heart Disease

Do you remember the first time you saw your baby? Held them in your arms? Naziya doesn’t. The brief 2 seconds that she saw her baby for right after her surgery is all she has of him. Now Naziya’s baby is miles away from her, in another hospital. She can’t touch him, can’t hold him when he cries, and worst of all, she can’t save him in 24 hours.

“Our baby has a heart disease and he needs surgery tomorrow morning. Naziya wants to be here, but she’s still recovering from the surgery…it hurts her to be away from our son. But we have no other choice. She feels she will lose him even before she sees him properly for the first time.” – Khaleeluddin, father

These parents spend every minute in fear, and their baby – in pain

Naziya was 6 months pregnant when she found out her baby has a heart disease. For the next 3 months, Khaleeluddin and she spent every day worrying. After his birth, it has turned to fear. Fear that he won’t make it to the next day. The 5-day-old has a hole in his heart and only a surgery can save him.

“He was blue when he was born, they had to rush him to a hospital in Hyderabad. He couldn’t even breathe on his own. I left my wife behind here and went with my baby. It’s been 5 days since then, and nothing is getting better.”

He has just 24 hours to save his newborn and no money

Naziya calls Khaleeluddin every few hours. All she wants is to see her baby once. Khaleeluddin assures her that their baby will be fine after the surgery, but now even he seems to be losing hope. And how would he not? He has 24 hours to save his newborn and zero money.

“There’s just not enough time…in less than a day I have to find some way, any way to make sure my baby survives. Naziya is waiting for him, my young daughters are waiting for us to take him home…I’ll be letting everyone down if it’s too late.”

Khaleeluddin works in a rice mill and earns Rs. 8,000 per month. He’s the sole breadwinner of the family. They barely had anything to even get their baby admitted, the surgery is impossible for them to afford.

Their baby can go home healthy with your help

Naziya and Khaleeluddin’s baby is only 5-days-old. He cries a lot, and when he does, he’s mostly alone in the NICU. His mother is in another hospital and his father is now trying to do everything he can to afford his treatment. This baby needs your help.
