10-Year-Old Lost Her Vision And Now Her Organs Are Shutting Down One By One

“Her blank stares - they just break my heart. My 10-year-old daughter has lost her vision. It all happened so suddenly. Her disease is taking over her body - one by one. Her organs are failing and she is in need of immediate treatment. But we don’t know if we will be able to afford that.” - Paromita, Aparajita’s mother.

Aparajita is suffering from lupus. It is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the healthy cells and tissues.

She started having seizures, we had to rush her to the hospital

Aparajita’s medicine was supposed to keep her condition under check but in December, all of a sudden, she started having seizures. Paromita and Ashok took her to the nearest hospital in their hometown in Tripura.

“However, even after three days in the ICU, her condition was not getting any better. We brought her to Chennai. The very next day she lost her eyesight! They said her disease is spreading fast. Her kidneys were failing, her blood pressure was shooting through the roof. We passed each day thinking this was the last…” - Ashok, father.

She tossed and turned in the bed because of her severe stomach ache

Every time she passed stool, she bled. Her stomach pain was excruciating. She couldn’t eat anything, neither could she sleep at night.

“Her condition was getting worse with every passing day. No one deserves to go through so much pain. And my daughter...she is just 10!”

Aparajita is getting better but she still needs a lot of care. She is still unable to see anything. The little girl is horrified. She fears that she will never be able to see again, she fears she will never go back to school.

“I have spent over 15 lakhs on her treatment till now. Everything I had, it’s over. But I would need 5 more lakhs. There is no way we can arrange for so much…” - Ashok, father.

Ashok works in a pharmacy shop in Agartala, he gets just about enough to take care of his family. He is counting solely on your help.
