Even when their income declines, education will not be compromised

Shubhasree is one of the students who are realizing their dream of quality schooling with the help of Milaap and its lenders. She is a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2 in Bhubaneswar. Her parents pay Rs.1800 every three months towards her school fee. Besides, to help her with academics, they enrolled her in private classes which cost them an additional Rs. 2000 every month. Her father is a painter by profession. The business being seasonal, his monthly income fluctuates but rarely it crosses Rs.10,000. Her mother does tailoring work at home and earns around Rs. 2000-3000 every month.
While school fee alone has never been much of a burden, the tuition fee is, especially when her father’s business is low. Furthermore, with the new academic year commencing, the money they require to purchase text books, supplementary reading books, stationery, school uniforms, shoes, etc. subjects them to enormous financial burden. Every year at this point of time, they take a loan at a high interest rate and repay it in the following months. This time, with the help of Milaap, they are able to borrow the money at a low interest rate rendering their daughter’s education not at all a burdensome affair. Shubhasree has a fascination for buildings and massive structures and she aspires to be a Civil Engineer.
