I am a student from University of Delhi with majors in Instrumentation and Control Engineering. Last year I was selected for the esteemed MIT Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Bootcamp 2018 at Brazil. Calculating all the expenses, it would have costed me more than my fathers’ annual income, and hence, I couldn’t afford to go there. I didn’t allow my father to take loan for this because it would take 7-10 years to repay the loan. I tried fund raising last time as well but failed miserably. (Here’s a link to my previous fund-raising campaign - https://goo.gl/8a9tp6) But, being an enthusiastic builder, I didn’t stop there. I applied for some other program and have been to HEC Paris’ (#1 European Business School) Startup Studio Program and Asia Pacific Innovation Academy in China on 100% scholarship.

MIT is ranked #1 institute globally. Some of the famous alumni of MIT include-  Buzz Aldrin (second man who walked on Moon), Kofi Annan (Former UN Secretary-General, Nobel Peace Prize awardee), Salman Khan (Founder of Khan Academy) and there’s much more to add, it’s a no-ending list.

I have been selected for the upcoming MIT Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp 2019 at Brisbane, Australia. I am one of the 50+ people shortlisted from an outstanding pool of applicants that include- students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and inventors from all over the world. I am attaching the admission letter from MIT for your reference.

The estimated expenses are as follows:

Tuition Fee: USD 6,500 (₹4,78,887)
Air fare (Cheapest option): USD 960 (₹70,731)
Accommodation for 1 week: USD 1,038 (₹76,500)

The total estimated expense to attend MIT Bootcamp would be around ₹6,26,090 ($8,498). I have ₹33,896 ($460) in my bank account which I earned by working part time and I will be using  that money for food, local transport, visa etc.

After my 1:1 interview with a graduate of the MIT program, I know this is a once in a life time opportunity for me. Attending and being a part of this program will open new opportunities, new avenues, new thinking, and an amazing level of energy. Throughout my career, I've been true to my mission of helping everyone around me with their business ideas, personal development, and encouraging them to shoot for their stars. This is my moonshot.

I started this email list a few months back, over 3000 people subscribed to it till now, where I share all the opportunities, conferences, competitions for free. If you've subscribed for it, you must be receiving emails from me.

You can subscribe to my mailing list by contributing $10 for a year and receive exclusive opportunities also, you'll not only receive emails but I will help you in preparing for the interviews, video essays, writing SoP and guiding throughout the whole application procedure.  (If you're subscribing for the email list, please make sure to write to me on any of the social media handles or drop me a line at yuganshc@gmail.com and don't contribute anonymously)

How is the MIT Bootcamp important for me?

I'll use the opportunity to attend the bootcamp to:

Refine my business skills as an entrepreneur: Since I come from an engineering background, I have been learning lessons in Entrepreneurship the hard way until now. At the bootcamp, I'll learn from some of the best technology entrepreneurs from all over the world.

Network: I'll get to talk to, and possibly collaborate with, people solving the same problem in different parts of the world. This will be an opportunity to bring even more innovation to my startup. The knowledge people carrying around in MIT is totally incredible.

What do my coworkers/mentors say about me?

What I've done or accomplished so far? (I am writing a brief description of all of my major projects/work)

a) Fern: Built a smart home-gardening system, a smart plant-pot. It is paired with a mobile application - our electronic system uses sensors to provide real-time updates into plant health.

b) Graduated from Startup School at Y-Combinator: Startup School was the program that gave us the next level of access to the YC community. YC Startup School is a rigorous 10-week program that includes lectures, office hours, weekly progress reports and an incredible community of builders and doers.

c) MapMeUp: I and Reka (currently working at Google), met at HEC Paris and we were working on the luxury product MapMeUp for those who travel a lot. MapMeUp offers customized products to travellers.

d) Mentor of Change at Atal Innovation Mission (AIM): AIM is an initiative by Government of India to promote innovation at school levels, currently I am mentoring 100+ students in Haryana.

e) University of Chicago, Entrepreneur in Residence: Polsky Exchange were founded on the belief that bringing talented people together from across the University of Chicago and greater Chicago startup scene would promote interdisciplinary collaboration. I have access to the co-working space, events and workshops, and their carefully curated network of mentors.

f) Accepted to Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Malaysia.

g) Accepted to NextGen Summit 2017 in New York: On Forbes list, NextGen Summit is the top 8th conference to must attend.

h) ShopNani: One of the best things happened to me, ShopNani is an AI-based price comparison engine with the user base of 12k.

i) Startupoid: I started a non-profit organization to help student Entrepreneurs, we hosted few events in schools and other places, partnered with TapChief for an event. It's closed now as we were lacking team and support.

j) Secured third position in National Entrepreneurship Challenge held at IIT Bombay, was part of a delegation of 15 students.

k) Interned with Godrej as a Business Developer, worked on running social campaigns like a blood donation camp to create brand awareness.

l) Associate Developer, Microsoft: Being a 13 years old kid, it was a completely different experience to work with Microsoft and building apps for Windows platform.

m) Built a quadcopter in 2013 with the scholarship of 60k from Delhi Technological University, formerly DCE.

n) Built humanoid robots, low-cost refrigerators, house cleaning bots at home and represented some of the projects at National level.

o) Vounteering with the United Nations as a Technical Assistance Manager.

Attending MIT Bootcamp will be truly transformational for my life and is indeed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me. Since my life’s philosophy is to either create value or enable value creation for the society, this Bootcamp becomes really important for me to attend.

I am an avid learner and have an ability to grasp concepts very quickly. All my research and study during the bootcamp will help me hone my problem-solving skills and enhance the user-centric thought process in me. I can apply all my skills, old and newly acquired after the bootcamp at your service. Apart from that, I can conduct various workshops or impart that knowledge by teaching along with my diverse experience in various fields.

The only barrier between me and this opportunity is its fees i.e. $8,500. Any financial help will be deeply appreciated.
