Swechha as a movement is a consensus among people about the nature of society, its problems and viable means to work towards positive change. We are a youth run, youth-focused NGO operating from Delhi, India that engages in environmental and social development issues. Our work is done with and through the youth coming from all walks of life, in order to raise awareness and bring about a ‘change’. Our definition of ‘change’ means a revolution in the attitude and perceptions of the masses and simultaneously in the environment-both social and human. We give the youth a platform to ‘be the change’ themselves for which they are provided with the necessary support and guidance.

We have three cross-cutting focus areas which lie at the bulwark of our programs and activities:

Environment and Education:

We believe we can change mindsets, ignite sparks and get people to play an active role in their communities by educating them on environmental issues and life skills.

Youth and Civil Society:

We strongly believe in the power of the youth and thus we wish to provide them with the necessary support to encourage and empower them in order to make them socially responsible citizens, who will further help in the advancement of the civil society.

Governance and Active Citizenship:

We aim to make people realise their potential of being socially and environmentally aware citizens who are more involved in their communities and help to bring about a change for a better, cleaner and healthier society. For us, citizenship is not only about belonging to a particular nation state, but about responsibility, partnership, participation and action.
