Meet Vishnu and His Mother!
Sometimes life comes with many challenges even to experience normal happiness – being a mother! Meet Rajeshwari, a strong-willed mother, determined to brighten her son’s future despite the hardships that life had to offer. She is a domestic help intending to get the best health care support for her son’s congenital hearing loss. When Vishnu was 10 Months Old, he was not responding to sound. Later He was diagnosed with profound hearing loss or Profound Cochlear Deafness. Initially, they were unable to afford artificial cochlear surgery due to their economic state, but through the timely contribution of some generous donors, they were able to pay for the required surgery. In all, it took her 5 years to put the money together. She persevered and raised an additional 5 lacs to buy the hearing aid required post placing the cochlear implants. She has let no obstacle stop her from getting her son the care and therapy he needs. She has shown great courage and resilience to overcome the odds. At times her friends and relatives had cast doubts over her ability to raise the money through domestic work, but she has stopped at nothing.

In her interview with us, she mentioned that Vishnu loves to draw and is highly interested in learning mechanics. And all her attempts to join him in classes to hone his skills have gone in vain due to his difficulty. For the past 10 months, she has been overly cautious because he couldn’t be attentive to the things approaching him from behind, let alone walking on the road by himself!
