Fifteen-year-old Sahil wants to study, to speak English fluently, to learn to use the computer. But his parents can’t provide the necessary support at home. His father works as a sweeper in a government school. Sahil requires help with his studies to continue with school. He needs a place where he can engage creatively with his ideas, share his thoughts, read different books and discuss them.
That’s where we come in. NEET’s Community Library is a free library based in Guwahati. We provide access to a variety of age- and interest-appropriate, contextual children’s literature, activity kits, art and craft supplies, and computers. Here children not only read books but also learn different forms of creative expression – mime, drama,  art and craft, dancing and singing. This is a safe space for children to engage with their heads, hearts and hands. We also provide academic support to children and help them with their studies.
The library needs funds to sustain its activities and meet its administrative expenses. To carry on helping children like Sahil, who have dreams but no resources to fulfill their dreams.
We request you to support our cause and help our children.
