Little Tarun had never known a life without illness. His father Prahlad has been constantly struggling to save his son from the dreadful disease that he's been suffering with since two years now. Prahlad works away from his family and all he thinks about is keeping his son alive. He travels all the way from Ahmedabad, Gujarat to Dabri, Rajasthan every time his son needs blood transfusions. Every day he worries about his son's health and works hard to ensure that he gets the blood transfusions in time. But the painful transfusions are not enough for him to get cured of his blood disease, and Prahlad is struggling to provide his son with a transplant which is the only way to save him.

Tarun was a happy and active child, but soon his health started deteriorating
Prahlad always wanted to provide his family with a life of ease. He stays away from his family in Ahmedabad, Gujarat working in a transport company. As a joint family, Prahlad even has to look after his parents and younger brother along with his family. In the midst of his endless struggles to look after his family, he found happiness when Tarun came into his life. Prahlad would be eagerly waiting to go home just to spend time with his son. But much to his despair, Tarun’s health started deteriorating, a few months after his birth.

“When I held my son in my arms the moment he was born, I knew I would do anything to give him a good life. Every month I would visit my family, eagerly waiting to see his smiling face. But a few months after his birth he started having diarrhea. We took him to the local hospital immediately. The doctors said his blood count is extremely low and he was given a bottle of blood immediately. Tarun underwent a few tests and it was then he was diagnosed with a dreadful blood disease.” - Prahlad, father

An urgent bone marrow transplant is the only cure for Tarun’s deteriorating condition
Little Tarun is diagnosed with red cell aplasia, a severe blood disease due to which the production of red blood cells in the body is stopped eventually leading to anaemia. Tarun needs to undergo blood transfusions thrice a month. The blood transfusions are only done to prevent his condition from worsening. Only a bone marrow transplant can help Tarun recover from this disease.
“ Tarun is a happy and loving child. But every time his health worsens, he becomes dull and his face turns pale. He doesn't eat food and cries all day. Every time he undergoes blood transfusion, he cries uncontrollably. I try to comfort him in every possible way but nothing works. It really pains me to see my son go through this. The doctors said bone marrow transplant is the only way to save him. I want him to have a normal life like every other kid.” Prahlad, father

After spending every rupee he had for Tarun’s blood transfusions, Prahlad is unable to afford a life-saving transplant
Most of the income that Prahlad earns is spent on looking after his family. Prahlad has borrowed about 7 lakhs just for the painful transfusions his son has to undergo every time his condition worsens. He is now desperately struggling to save every rupee that he earns for the transplant. But with the meagre income that he earns, he cannot provide a life-saving transplant that costs 30 lakhs.
