Wasim is a 2017 Teach for India (TFI) Alumnus from Hyderabad. Wasim spent two years teaching underprivileged children during his fellowship at TFI. Later he continued to work for the underserved at India School Leadership Institute. 

He is currently diagnosed with two clots in his brain - one on the right side and the other in the central area of the brain
Doctors advised for an immediate admission and treatment, any delay increases the chance of clot expanding and causing him to slip into a coma. Treatment would involve anticoagulation medicines administered under very strict supervision for a minimum of 5 days in the Neurology ICU because the treatment is risky and involves a high chance of serious complications like seizures, paralysis, bleeding and loss of vision. Wasim was admitted to the Neurology ICU after consent from his family to begin the treatment on 22nd November.

He is able to incur his expenses of Rs 1 Lakh from his medical insurance. He is able to support himself from his savings of Rs 1 Lakh.

Rs 2.5 Lakh more would be needed to pay his medical bills. His friends are helping him in whatever way they can. We request all of you to extend financial support in whatever capacity possible for Wasim so that he can afford treatment and beat this illness.
