Corona is affecting every individual and sector in some way or the other. While some are struggling with health issues many are struggling just to survive. Arts/Theatre is one such category which came to a complete standstill. We are talking about Surabhi Drama a group of 240 families whose livelihood is completely dependent on stage shows and dramas which are shutdown and sadly they do not see any future for next several months. They presently reside at surabhi colony in sherlingampalli (near metro station) Hyderabad . This group has a rich history. Formed in 1885 in a village called sorugu (later became surabhi) in kadapa dst in Andhra Pradesh state they were pioneers in dramas and also inspired many great movies like baktha prahlada , Maya bazaar through their dramas in those days. We are aware of many great actors who who came from stage shows / dramas and made big names/careers in television and movies.  Attempts have been made to source help for work (Any tv shows, youtube channel shows ) through some big names in films but unfortunately nothing has materialized so far. The outside odd gigs like school anniversaries, marriages, functions are also dried up for now and in near future.  The team are ready for any kind of work at present. While they continue to source help for work there is an urgent need for support for food/medicine and other basic needs for them.  The objective of this campaign is to help these families to get through until they find some livelihood support. Average expenses for each family (4) is around Rs 2000/month. This should cover for food/medicine/electric/water bills.  Any support from individuals/groups/communities for this would be greatly appreciated.
