Guilt-Ridden Father Refuses To Meet Dying Daughter In The Hospital
“She is closer to her father, than she is to me. Not being able to meet him, especially when this could very well be her last few months on earth, is breaking her apart."11-year-old Sravya is Kasilakshmi and Obul Reddy's only child and news of her cancer brought their lives to a standstill. Sravya has acute blood cancer which is very curable if treated in time. Obul works in a dry-cleaners' shop and had to borrow from relatives for Shravya's treatment. Now out of money, he believes there is no way to save his daughter.

Her father is too torn to come to the hospital
Kasilakshmi is in the hospital with Sravya because Sravya's father Obul is too torn up to come to the hospital. Every time he sees his daughter's face he starts crying. This is upsetting for Sravya. Kasilakshmi has told him to stay at home and takes care of Sravya at the hospitals.
“She is the light of our house. We can't bear to see her get minor fevers or colds. When they told us she had cancer – we both started crying. We didn't know what to do. Our relatives came home and collected some money to take her to Manipal Hospital here in Vijayawada.” - Kasilakshmi.

Sravya's cancer treatment till now has been possible only because her parents had help
Only two months back, her parents discovered black spots on Sravya's hands and feet. Slowly, she started to have a fever every day. It took a month to catch Sravya's blood cancer. But once diagnosed, her parents and relatives wasted no time in starting the treatment.
Sravya's hands were swollen due to treatment and she now takes chemotherapy through a line through her throat
“My daughter is a good person. Every mother might say it – but Sravya is special to everyone in the family. When they heard, they all came to help us. The doctor has even told her what she has – and she has been very strong. Maybe she knows how scared her parents are. We have lost our sleep trying to find ways to somehow continue paying for treatment.” -Kasilakshmi

Sravya at her birthday
Sravya tells her parents to be brave – because she is going to beat cancer
Sravya keeps telling her parents that she will get better. She takes her gruelling treatment and manages to comfort her worried parents. She has even accepted that she will have to repeat class 5 in school. Her parents don't know what they will tell her if her treatment is stopped.

How you can help
Thanks to his relatives' help Sravya's parents have managed to get her the first round of chemotherapy. The doctor says she is responding well and she should beat cancer if she can complete treatment. Sravya's parents are filled with guilt that they are not able to save the life of their only child. They need help saving Sravya.Your contribution will help these parents save their child from cancer.
