Small school called Saraswati Vidya Mandir in a village called Nagthat (lesser known hill station 78 kms from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, which is also my granny’s place :)) has 27 kids from standard 1st to 8th with 4 teachers. The school completely relies on the fees that come from the students and donations from individuals for it to run. The students come from very poor families who are not even able to pay the fees at times. The teachers have been working without salaries for months just for the kids and so that the school doesn’t shut down. The only other school in the village is a govt. school where teachers don’t even show up for months. In the absence of funds this school might shut down soon :(
The average spend of the school per month is about 15000 including the salaries of the teachers. Help me prevent this school from shutting down. The future of these 27 kids really is in the hands of fortunate ones like us who can donate money equal to a dinner, a dress or a pair of shoes.
I am targeting to raise funds to cover atleast a year for the school which is 1.8 Lacs. More the funds, longer the school runs :)
Help me save this school and the kids to continue studying :)
