We are friends and schoolmates of Ratnakar Bharti (SPS 1990,) organizing this fundraiser to support his medical treatment. He has suffered from an “ischemic brain stroke”.
On Oct 4th, Ratnakar suffered a massive brain stroke and was admitted in ICU in Kokilaben Ambani hospital, Mumbai. As per MRI scan, he requires urgent surgery for two blood vessel stent implants. One stent implant surgery was done successfully. The second one needs to be done at the earliest to minimize brain damage. The estimated cost of this procedure is INR 10 lakhs.
His wife is trying to raise the surgery cost from her own resources and with the help of relatives, but that is likely to fall far short of the requirement. Due to the circumstances, we are trying to mobilize funds for his treatment. According to medical experts, “the more time it takes for the intervention, the higher are the chances of neuro deficit” but “if dealt timely and by an expert hand, he will recover fully.”
Ratnakar has a wife and two teenage kids; his daughter just started college and his son is 15. His friends and schoolmates are already pitching in and giving as much as they can - but more help is needed, and it's very time-sensitive.
