Around 7 months back, My cousin Rajkumar Katiya (Raju) who lives in my hometown Amravati, Maharastra, India with his wife and two sweet daughters Preeti (13) & Divya (7), was infected with hepatitis (Jaundice).
All of the sudden around a month before, he got to know that his liver got damaged due to Hepatitis and has to go for liver transplant. It was a big shock for his family and for me also to know that Raju, who never smoked and a non alcoholic guy has a liver disease and has to go for liver transplant. He is a person who always smiles and makes people smile in any circumstances.
The cost of liver transplant in India is over INR 27,00,000. He belongs to lower middle class family who’s monthly income is not more than INR 15 K to 20K. It is very difficult for a person like him who’s monthly income is so low, can arrange funds of this amount.
Doctors had kept him on standby since organs are not easy to get. It depends when somebody will donate. But it is expected that within 1 to 2 months, they would be able to get the liver for transplant. Doctors had asked Raju and my younger cousin to arrange funds.
I would highly appreciate your support to raise funds which can not only help to provide second life for Raju but at the same time it will be a second life for his family. He and younger brother will be able to manage 5 to 6 lakhs. Government in India had started scheme called “Jeevandan” and provide INR 5,00,000 for patients who requires organ transplant. For rest amount they are looking for help. There is an old story of thirsty crow who raised the water level in low water level pot by putting stones. So any help is greatly appreciated.
Images of his health and estimate for liver transplant are attached. For any questions/queries & updates, donor/contributor can contact me. If donor/contributor like to get updates directly from his younger brother Jay, they can contact me to get his contact number.
Thank you very much for your support.
