In the fight against COVID and other medical conditions, ventilators are critical life-saving equipment. The unprecedented rise in COVID-19 patient numbers has brought to forefront the lack of these equipment at hospitals even in big cities like Delhi.
St Stephen's Hospital which is a registered NGO, is one of the oldest and largest private charitable hospitals in Delhi. Although it has a capacity of about 600 beds, it only has 18 ventilators currently - the demand for ventilators far outstripped supply even in pre-COVID days. Having access to ventilators is essential for treatment of severe COVID-19 patients and other critical care patients as well. Also, ventilators can be used for treatment of all critical patients even after the pandemic wanes (which we all are praying for).
With this campaign, we are looking to raise funds to procure at least 1 ventilator at the hospital– the ventilator is expected to arrive at the hospital within a week. Each ventilator can save numerous critical patients, and with your support, if we act fast, we can save many lives during this pandemic.
Please do consider contributing to this appeal and share this message widely.
Who are we?
We two friends, both corporate lawyers, who are passionate about making a small (but sustainable) contribution in the current medical crisis in India:
• Anubhuti Agrawal is a heading legal for India at Hilton and has been recognized as a Leading In-house counsel by various publications.
• Sarah Poulose is a corporate lawyer working in the legal department of Airtel in Delhi.
We hope that all our friends in India and abroad will support us in raising enough funds for installing the ventilator at the hospital.
The hospital already has the machine tied up, and there is no commission or middlemen.
All donations will go to St. Stephen’s hospital (or the ventilator supplier) directly.
