My baby suppose to be in my womb like all others and her organs should be in the process of forming and growing. Without any reason all of a sudden I had unbearable pain and felt something coming out with water. Then my husband said it is my baby that is coming out and he rushed me to the nearby hospital. My Blood pressure went very low and am almost passed out.
Carried me in a stretcher, next thing I heard from doctor is that “It’s too late and the baby’s trunk is already out in abnormal breech position and we have to take out the baby completely.” My baby was removed and placed in a tray since she was without any moments or breathe like dead. But there was very little heartbeats, 30 beats per minute.
I cried to doctors that I’ve already lost one baby last year at 3 months pregnancy, i cannot loose this one too, Please save my baby. I remember doctors said that “ Full term babies-40 weeks, Preterm babies > 32 weeks, Micro preterm babies > 28 weeks, Extreme Preterm Nano babies > 25 weeks, But your baby is only 23-24 weeks.This is a female foetus weighing only 600 grams and it’s not even a baby, we cannot do anything. Organs are not fully developed and these heartbeats will stop in a minute. It will not last long. We will put stitches on your uterus mouth for next baby so that we could avoid incident like this.”
Bursted out in tears and pain, as time passed by, expected for the heartbeats to stop, doctors were shocked to see that her heart still kept beating where it looked like the baby is not giving up and fighting to survive. Finally doctors discussed and decided to give a try. With the help of some medications and mechanical ventilation, by the grace of God the baby picked up so well and heartbeats increased to 140. Doctors said “ it’s a miracle, but there’s no guarantee, anything might happen but we will try, only one in a million can survive.”
Immediately expert team arrived from rainbow childrens hospital, with movable ventilator, incubator and all other equipments, shifted her to their hospital. Lungs, brain and heart do not co-ordinate among each other, Lungs and intestines not fully developed, cannot breathe without support of ventilator, blood vessels in the eyes not formed, highly sensitive of getting infections, skin underdeveloped, with so many other complications, with bruises and wounds, my baby is fighting to survive against all the odds and laws of nature.
She needs 15 lakh rupees and 3 months critical care treatment for her organs to fully grow, become mature and function properly co-ordinating between each other without any complications.
