India Youth For Society is a committed organisation for awareness about hazards by plastics waste and to educate residents, tourists and the stakeholders involved in urban bodies. We are actively involved in environmental pollution remediation efforts such as the clean-up of plastic waste materials that are indiscriminately disposed of in Visakhapatnam on the streets, drains and the beach by the public and cleaning up of water bodies around the city.

We have been provided with a small site with power and water by Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC) for processing plastic waste. Our volunteers literally hand-pick the plastic waste from streets, apartments, beach, parks, etc., and carry the collected waste with bare hands. Two old and rusted machines are available at the site to clean, dry, and shred the plastic waste collected. However, these are not dependable as they frequently undergo repairs.

Hence, through this campaign we wish to raise funds to purchase new and energy efficient machinery which would be able to process more plastic waste to produce more chips and granules.
