Veteran Flutist Smt. Geetha Gopal age 60 is fighting Brain Tumor at citi hospital Rajaji Nagar, Bangalore. Recipient of Govt. of Karnataka scholarship from Sangeeta Nritya Academy, Smt. Geetha Gopal has given many programs on Akashavani, Doordarshan and reputed sabhas alike.

This simple down to earth person has trained innumerable students for free many decades. Visiting the Prabodhini Gurukula in Hariharapura, Shringeri, every month, she has conducted free flute camps for the Gurukula students. A motherly figure to all students, this great vidushi has contributed par imagination to the field of Carnatic music,
