As Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has affected us all, children have not been spared either. Due to the closure of schools and social distancing, children from underprivileged families have been highly impacted due to lack of access to smartphones and internet connection. Though teachers have been taking online classes and have been sharing content online, due to lack of financial resource, many children have remained deprived of learning material.
Therefore, we Gandhi Fellows (Batch-12) are back on our mission to help underprivileged children. As of now, we have helped 1200 families with the support of ration facilities wherein we have provided minimum cash support to some families in Thane and Mumbai and have delivered essential food stock to others during the lockdown. Moreover, we have also supported children by mentoring and guiding them in their studies and have assisted teachers with technological support. However, the situation has not normalized yet and we require your active support in continuing to support them. We request you to give your support in all the durable goods like radios, old mobile phone/tabs, and reusable books, stationary and other physical objects which can help children in their academics. You can also help by contributing your second-hand technological gadgets/ any other related learning material for children or by volunteering/ suggesting names for volunteering in helping children academically.
