Arun Kumar's father Mr. Pichaimani was tested positive for COVID on 15th May 2021. He had to be hospitalized for a week owing to multiple symptoms for which the expenses exceeded 1.3 Lakhs INR. Soon after recovering from COVID, he was diagnosed with Mucormycosis (Black Fungus). He had to spend as much 3.2 Lakhs INR to get operated on and treated for the same. The financial burden did not get lighter yet. As a part of the post-surgery treatment, Mr. Pichaimani had to be injected with 40 doses of Liposomal Amphotericin drug (a rare drug then). Along with the hospitalization charges, the family had to spend up to 2.92 Lakhs INR. In total, he had to spend 7.4 Lakhs INR for the entire treatment. All the expenses were reimbursed through his organization's financial aid program.
Now, the latest MRI scan had revealed that a thick-walled fluid collection is present in the interior region of his forehead. The doctor had suggested 40 more doses of the amphotericin injection in addition to a surgery. The expenses now have reached 3,32,687 INR.
Arun and his family now need your help in reducing the financial burden created by the current deadly pandemic.
