This is fundraising starts with my story. Hi, my name is Afroz khan. I'm from India I'm 20 now. "I'm gay". I belong from Muslim family where people thinks being gay or being part of LGBTQ is against the nature and that person should be dead. So when I was 17 my parents got hint about me. That I'm gay because I was bit feminine. So after 10th standard, my Dad told me he is no more going to take care of my education. I should go and beg on the street and I was only 16 that time. And I also wanted to study further and wanted to become successful in my life. I always had dream to make career in Hospitality industry so I went out searching for a job. I tried giving interview and tried to work anywhere but everyone said I'm 16 I'm underage I can't work. I was so broken but then finally I told my story to a shoe shop owner he helped me with a part-time job and I completed my 12th.
Then when I turn 17. My parents come to know about my sexuality and my dad use to beat me every day and then after 4-5 days when neighbours and other people come to know about me, my parents kicked me out of the house and he said I have more 4 bothers who will take care of my family. I don't want anyone unnatural in my house. Otherwise god will curse us because of you.
Now I was alone, calling everyone who can possibly help me. I had no money with me. Only my bag pack with some clothes and my books. Finally, one of my friend who stayed alone in New Mumbai asked me to stay with him. Then I started staying with him in New Mumbai. Now I want to become something in my life and show my parents what I can do. So I started working in a call centre and started earning because I have to pay partial rent. Soon I got admission in Hospitality college and the fee was less than compared to other colleges. But the fee is one lakh per year which I thought I'll earn by working later in the evening but then the timings of my college are different from my work timings. I could not manage with the time and left college after my first year. I did not get help from anywhere. Then I met some more people from my community who are abandoned from their family because of their sexuality. As they are not so educated they have started prostitution for a living. Kindly donate and help us with this fundraiser, so that we can all make a living, educate ourselves and live our rightful life.
