Aarti Home (www.aartiforgirls.org) was established 30 years ago as a home for orphaned and abandoned children at Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh when Sandhya, the founder of Aarti Home, found an orphaned and abused girl on the side of the road. Today, Aarti Home is a home for 120 children and Aarti School is a home away from home for 950 poor and uncared for children. The children at Aarti School come from extremely poor backgrounds and are often left uncared for as street children. Aarti School provides family based care for the children by providing them security of food, clothing, education and safety. The children, however, lack the capability to build and develop, hampering their ability to become strong in STEM. Team Athena, TISB Trojan and Rickety Robots from FRC and FTC teams aim to solve this by building a basic Makers Lab for the children of Aarti School. Aarti School is providing a space, teachers and outreach for the students. Team Athena, TISB Trojan and Rickety Robots will create the requirements for the Maker Space and raising funds. The team aims to raise Rs. 150000 for infrastructure and consumables.
