    This fundraiser will benefit

    a peace event

from Delhi, National Capital Territory of Delhi

This year, 2024, marks the centenary of Rabindranath Tagore’s historic trip to China. We are living in a time when the threat and presence of devastating war looms large over the world. In Asia, India and China must come together in this new era to become a force for world peace. The Intercivilizational Dialogue Project, Gandhi Global Family and Nirmala Deshpande Sansthan are organizing a yearlong celebration of this centenary to examine Tagore’s ideas of unity and peace in Asia. In Delhi, we are partnering with the Institute of Chinese Studies to organize a 2-day conference in Delhi on September 23-24, 2024.

India and China are forecasted to become the two largest economies by 2050. At the same time, countries in the West are going through a prolonged political crisis. There is instability in Asia, both in the West and East. India and China are two old civilizations and two young nations. Their relationship is important for the emergence of a new democratic world order on peaceful terms. Rabindranath Tagore was received in China as a messenger of peace and a prophet for the future. His visit inspired many Chinese writers and poets. Through his legacy and ideas we in India and China can better understand each other. Join us in celebrating this important occasion, and fighting for a new Asia.

We ask you to help us raise funds for the conference in Delhi, and contribute to making this effort for peace a success. Funds will go towards travel and stay costs for speakers, food for participants and printing of materials.
