Hey everyone, my name is Shivanshi and I am a volunteer at Hamari Pahchaan NGO. The cause I am supporting is women empowerment.
Stigma around menstruation is the biggest barrier in allowing menstrual hygiene health in India making mothers shy away from talking about menstruation and the care needed to their daughters; young girls enter puberty on their own with no support mechanism with very little or absolutely no knowledge about their bodies, menstrual hygiene and disposal.
Lack of access to menstrual hygiene products and facilities to menstruating women and girls in India . They often face challenges in accessing menstrual hygiene products due to several factors such as lack of agency among girls and young women, unavailability of products, poverty and social norms.
Only 12% of India's girls and women use sanitary pads; 23% girls are entering schools with onset of puberty. 200 million women out of the 355 million menstruating women and girls in India live in dark about menstruation and good health hygiene.
To support women menstrual hygiene Hamari Pahchaan NGO has come up with a project called SUKHAD . This project helps underprivileged women to take care of there menstrual  hygiene by providing them with basic menstrual kit and making them aware about menstruation so that it's no longer a taboo in our India society. I am honored to be a part of such project.
By supporting this project we can help them spend these hard times of month comfortably.  I will request you all to donate to this cause. You all can make a difference in the society by donating whatever amount you wish. You can be the reason for a woman's comfort and good health during periods.
