    This fundraiser will benefit

    Arfath Mohammed

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

Since he was born, Arfath has been suffering from a severe blood disease called Thalassemia. The disease has made him very weak and now his condition has become very severe.

What is Thalassemia?
Thalassemia is a disease of the blood where there is increased destruction of the blood cells. Since such a patient does not have an adequate number of blood cells, they suffer from anaemia, which makes them extremely weak, dizzy and lightheaded. It can also cause an enlarged spleen and a damaged liver. It even breaks down the immunity and causes jaundice.

Arfath has been suffering from this disease for the last two years and is in chronic pain with a persistent loss of appetite. He has been undergoing a number of blood transfusions in order to treat his condition but that can be equally dangerous as it causes an overload of iron in the body which can become life-threatening.

Arfath is unable to eat any food because he is always in pain. While the spleen is destroying his blood cells, his liver is also getting affected. Now, he is vulnerable to jaundice and liver injury. Arfath’s belly is swollen, and the pain from that is unbearable.

The only solution for Arfath now is to undergo a bone marrow transplant in order to recover from his disease.

The total cost for the bone marrow transplant and treatment is around 24 lakhs. His father, Maqbool, only earns 6000 INR a month and does not have the funds to save his son.

However, this is not where the story ends. Arfath has an older brother, Ayaan, who is suffering from the same disease and he too is in a severe state and in dire need of a bone marrow transplant as well.
Both Arfath and Ayaan have Thalassemia

Maqbool does not have the funds to save either of his children and needs our help urgently. Your contribution can save Arfath.

"I am a farmer. I make Rs. 300/day. I need to save two sons. We never knew such diseases existed. We never understood these harsh truths. Now, to save our little boys, we must pay Rs. 24 lakhs towards each of their bone marrow transplants".
