Priya, works as a house help and earns from doing household chores in 3 houses. She earns around 6000 a month and supports her daughter's needs and education solely through her earnings.
Her husband used to pay the rent and other household expenses from his earning. But he started drinking and it took a toll on their life.
A few days back, her husband left his wife and daughter and took the train to Vellore. The last she heard from him was when he landed there and called her to let her know that he won't be coming back
She now works overtime and is searching for other ways to earn so as to support her daughter in every way possible. Her husband has also taken a debt of 3 lakhs and run away which is now Priya's responsibility. Her only hope and light in her dark life is her daughter. She is currently in her 7th grade and is a bright young girl. She performs excellently in her school and has scored a 95 percent in her recently concluded final exams.
