Mrs. Kalaivani. S, 41 years old female, a teacher by profession was diagnosed with acute pulmonary oedema , Dilated cardiomyopathy ,VT –DC verted. She has two children 1. Male - 16 years old studying in 10th standard 2. Female child- 13 years old studying in 7th standard.
Coronary angiogram that was done 3 months back revealed normal coronaries. On 1st November patient had giddiness, loss of appetite and palpitations. Patient was taken to Shanthi Hospital, Kovai where ECG showed VT - DC verted and medically managed and then referred to the GKNM Hospital,Kovai . There she was admitted and treated for acute pulmonary edema, electrolyte disturbances, cardio genic shock and dialysis done and was discharged on 7th November. Patient was discussed as MVR / transplant / but the patient`s attender`s sought consult here in our OPD on 8th November and today they brought the patient to our ER for further evaluation and management.
Her husband Mr. Shankar aged 46 years works at Shristi cotspin pvt.ltd .Earning around Rs.13,000 .Lives in a rented house .Wife was working at a school and after this medical problem she resigned her job .Husband is the bread winner of the family .So far he had expended Rs.1,50,000 at GKNM hospital ,Kovai .Till now from the day of admission in our hospital the medical bill is around Rs.70,000 .
